Welcome

Welcome to the HepCBC Legacy site, an archive of the work of HepCBC Hepatitis C Education and Prevention Society by dedicated volunteers from 1996 to 2020. By exploring the collections, you’ll find stories, photos, videos, and the entire archive of the HepCBC website contents and HepC.bull e-newsletter. All content has been re-published in its original form as created by HepCBC.

This website intends to capture the history of HepCBC and, as such, contains documents and information that have now changed due to advances in care for people with viral hepatitis. As such, some information or language may be out of date. For clarity, please visit the BC Hepatitis Network at bchep.org or contact a Peer Navigator at Help4Hep BC for the most up-to-date information about hepatitis treatment, care, and support.

Major changes to hepatitis C treatment occurred from 2013 onward with the approval of new direct-acting antiviral (DAA) medications in Canada, with more widespread uptake of DAAs around 2015. Up-to-date information on currently available hep C treatment, patient support programs, and BC Pharma Care coverage can be found at bchep.org or by phoning or texting Help4Hep BC at 1-888-411-7578, or emailing to hello [at] bchep.org.
