FIRST NATIONS LEADER URGES BABY BOOMERS TO GET TESTED FOR HCV

While standing behind Dr. Evan Adams (Chief Medical Officer of the First Nations Health Authority) in a lunch line May 5th at the Gathering Wisdom Health Fair, HepCBC’s President, Rosemary Plummer, decided to ask Dr. Adams if he would be willing to be publicly tested for hepatitis C. He surprised her with an enthusiastic “SURE!” And on July 10th he made good on that promise, even filming a “World Hepatitis Day Message” explaining why all Baby Boomers should get tested for hepatitis C. This message also helped launch the “GenerationHep” (http://www.generationhep.com) campaign sponsored by the World Hepatitis Day Vancouver 2015 Planning Committee. The test was performed by Dr. Alexandra King, another leader in Aboriginal health in Canada. Below is  the You Tube link to Dr. Adams’ video:
