When Pat Gelineau started six-months of treatment for hepatitis C last summer, she looked forward to having more energy and being able to play with a grandchild on the way. She no longer carries the virus, but still feels exhausted most day. Her doctor says it may take months or years for her liver to recover. Dr. Brian Conway says tackling the disease now, even among active drug users, is a good investment.
