September 1, 2018 saw HepCBC “return to the kitchen tables” of its volunteers for its operations.

We have had to close both our offices and lay off all staff at least for the next few months. This was due to a temporary funding shortage, and all services continue without interruption, including our website and social media, our toll-free phone line 1-844-268-2118 (direct dial 250-595-3892), our participation in many community events, prison visitations, peer support and advocacy for hepatitis B and hepatitis C patients and their families, and production of a variety of educational brochures in several languages.

WHAT CAN YOU DO? If interested in becoming involved in HepCBC as a volunteer, member, or even a Board member, please contact us (see http://hepcbc.bchep.org/contact-us ). Our next Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 3rd in Victoria as well as online for those living elsewhere in BC. To vote you must be a member for at least one month in advance of AGM. Fundraising ideas are always welcome as well, of course. As our mandate recently expanded to include hepatitis B, we are particularly hoping for some new volunteers and Board members whose lives have been affected by this disease. Our Board has always been a diverse mix of patients, family members and friends of patients, medical professionals, and members of the general public with caring hearts.
